Fakin' It (Mastered)

from Small World by Chuck W.

/

about

The first Single off of Small World, Faking It,' is a track where a whole hell of a lot happens in not that much of a time frame. It also ties into the album's themes of agoraphobia, claustrophobia and societal xenophobia perfectly.

It starts off rather strange, as many of my tunes tend to. Following suit rather quickly and somewhat out of left field, is a brass section playing a happy and simple run. This riff somehow meshes enough major sounding elements to give an incorrect perception of normalcy. Skewed, Mis-spoken, Out-of Place, call it what you will. Either way, it ensnares you, if only momentarily, to latch on once again. Similar to your sanity immediately following trauma, you are out of place. You do not belong. You are not welcome. And it’s eeeeveryone’s fault. Then, you curl up into a neat little ball and cry. And cry. And Cry. And. Cry…. And …

Gear Used – Phone App Caustic. That’s actually really it. The MIDI Brass is Logic, though.
